Learners will gain an understanding of the hazards and potential risks of leaning ladders and flat roof access, whilst developing the required knowledge to implement safe working methods via the use of fall protection equipment, that will enable these systems to be used safely.

These topics will be covered

• Relevant health & safety legislation and industry good practice when working on site
• Importance of the harness within the fall protection system.
• Fall classification & effect.
• Leaning ladder access methods.
• Safe working procedure for leaning ladders access methods.
• Know the criteria and inspection guidance for flat roof working.
• Be able to carry out a safe method of installing a single point fall protective system to a flat roof.

 

Prerequisites

There are no formal entry requirements and Locktel Academy will not restrict access on the grounds of prior academic attainment, age, employment, or any other grounds, thereby promoting equality. It is expected that learners will have a level of literacy adequate to cope with the theory assessment.
